Explosive, Ordinance and Hazardous Testing
Kelly Space & Technology, Inc. (KST) provides hazardous environmental and dynamic testing services to numerous military, government and commercial customers in conformance with MIL-STD-810, RTCA/DO-160 and numerous commercial specifications as well as customer specific procedures. MIL-STD-810 outlines a variety of laboratory test methods that are conducted by KST. These include low and high temperature storage and operation, temperature cycling, altitude cycling, solar radiation, rain, humidity, fungus, salt fog, sand and dust, water immersion, vibration, shock, icing, and or a combination of the said environments.
Some test specimens that are explosive in nature require testing to these methods and/or a tailored specification that are continuously exposed to these environments. KST’s environmental test chambers can accommodate various sizes of test articles. Some test specifications require, 24 hours per day, with total test durations ranging from days to months with one example being accelerated ageing. KST’s test chambers vary in size from 3-foot cubed to 16’ x 16’ x 30’ and are locked and secured for the entire test duration.
Safety is our main concern when conducting hazardous tests. KST’s teams of explosive ordnance specialist maintain safe handling procedures.
